In addition to our many benefits and perks, UAB Medicine provides a variety of resources to support employees both personally and professionally.Unit Details:The Acute Care for Elders Unit (ACE) or “Highlands 4 Main” is a 26-bed acute care unit located at UAB Hospital-Highlands that provides care to post-surgical and geriatric patients, as well as those transferred from the emergency department, ICU, or admitted from a physician office. The ACE Unit is the very first of its kind in ***** and is nationally recognized for addressing the health care needs of geriatric patients. The unit utilizes an interdisciplinary care team trained in geriatrics to provide acutely ill older adults with holistic care of the highest quality. Promoting health, preventing complications, optimizing function, and preserving dignity are all important components of their mission. Job Description:To utilize the nursing process to care and/or counsel individuals in the promotion and maintenance of health and the prevention of illness and injury.
