Unit Details:The Cardio-Pulmonary Critical Care (CPCC) Unit is a 19-bed intensive care unit that provides care for patients with heart failure, cystic fibrosis (CF), and pulmonary disease, as well as patients before and after heart or lung transplantation and after cardiothoracic surgery. This unit recently received a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence, which recognizes health care organizations like ***** Medicine that provide exceptional care through positive patient outcomes and greater overall patient satisfaction. This unit also provides care for 95% of ***** Medicine’s patients needing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). ***** Medicine’s ECMO program started over 20 years ago and is the only one in *****.
