Shift Available:- Part-Time AM: 7 12-hour shifts per month (8am-8pm)
Unit Details:The APP position with RNICU requires a certified NNP with BLS and NRP certifications, new grads are welcome to apply. There will be 2, 24hr NPs per 24 hour shift. One NP will take an assignment and the other NP will help with procedures, attend deliveries, help other NPs, or help the residents. Once the dayshift NPs leave the 24 hr NPs will cover all of the NP patients. Whether you are looking to start your career, fast-track your development, or diversify your skills, UAB Medicine offers avenues for advancement that other employers cannot match.Job Description:To provide medical care and treatment within established scope of practice to neonatal patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician (Section 610-X-5 of the ***** Board of Nursing Administrative Code) or under supervision of a Board Certified Physician (Section 540-X-7 of the ***** Board of Medical Examiners Administrative Code). The collaborating physician shall be available for direct communication for consultation and referral or arrange for the same medical coverage by a physician who is pre-approved by the State Board of Medical Examiners in the same manner as the collaborating physician of record. To coordinate plan of care, discharge and specialty referrals as appropriate to meet the age specific needs of the patient. To plan and coordinate health care education for patient, family and other health care providers as needed. To perform comprehensive physical examination and assessments. To interpret, analyze and evaluate patient’s medical record and social data. To perform and/or assist the physician with procedures per collaborative agreement. To coordinate and participate in performance improvement activities.

Desired Qualification
MSN Master of Science in Nursing, Neonatal NP certification, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) Specialty by the ***** Board of Nursing, Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), 30 days of employment, depending on unit/department may require Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
