The clinical associate physician is responsible for the care of patients in the hospital and clinics, as well as some advocacy and educational initiatives as determined by the Division Chief and/or the Center leadership.

Roles Responsibility
Provide clinical services for patients, Provide oversight of the medical care team, Provide on-call services, Actively participate in family centered care, Appropriately utilize the defined chain of command, Respond to team members and outside medical providers in a timely and respectful manner, Participate in advocacy initiatives, Contribute scholarly effort to the advancement of public policy, Teach patients and families about treatment, Participate in health promotion programs, Provide education, Participate in hospital/university-wide educational programs, Provide feedback to trainees, Ensure adequate orientation for the care that trainees deliver, Supervise and train clinical professionals and students, Follow established bylaws and policies, Complete all clinical documentation, Identify problems related to patient services, Cooperate in the development of policies affecting medical practice, Review and prepare protocols, Evaluate patient care, Participate in quality assurance, Contribute to a positive work environment, Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to change, Identify opportunities to improve processes, Use resources efficiently, Promote safety for patients and co-workers, Attend carefully to important details
Desired Qualification
MD Medical Doctor, Medical degree, Current medical principles and procedures, Legal and ethical standards in medical care, Quality, safety, infection control standards, Continuing Medical Education commitment
