Physician Assistant – Neurosurgery Inpatient/Outpatient

The ***** ***** Bayview Medical Center Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) primarily supports the neurosurgery inpatient services for brain tumor, spine, interventional radiology and cerebral vascular by performing patient-oriented tasks such as taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, ordering laboratory tests, making tentative diagnoses and prescribing appropriate treatments. The PA will manage ICP, suture/staple removal, wound care, removing drains, and assisting attending surgeons with inpatient procedures such as EVD placement and shunt taps. The PA will work closely with the multidisciplinary team arranging for patient discharges. The PA position is also responsible for covering the outpatient clinic (1 day per week), as well as ED/Rehab consults for tumors and traumatic injuries.
