The shifts available for this unit are:- Full-Time AM: 3 12-hour shifts per week- Full-Time PM: 3 12-hour shifts per week- Flexi/PRNUnit Details: The Unit for Neuroscience Nursing is a 20-bed acute care unit that cares for patients with neurological illnesses and injuries like epilepsy and glioblastomas, as well as those having neurosurgery and spinal surgery. This unit also treats patients undergoing ketamine infusion therapy and those who have an externalized shunt or lumbar drain. This team has a strong focus on patient safety and has been consistently recognized for preventing patients from getting a central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI). Nurses on this unit are part of a specialized interdisciplinary care team that is at the forefront of research. To orient patients and family members to surrounding environment, acting as a patient advocate. To collect patient assessment data and notify RN of potential problems. To evaluate patient s response to care and report findings to RN, document delivery of patient care, effectively respond to emergency situations, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, meet patient s educational needs, and serve as a role model to other members of the patient care team.
