Some of these responsibilities include (1) the administrative support of oncology accreditation and certification maintained by the UAB CSL (i.e. Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer (NAPBC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Oncology Care Model etc.); (2) development and implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support services, assessing and improving CSL performance (3) quality improvement facilitation through coordination of targeted process improvement initiatives, and evaluation of success according to pre-established criteria and measurement tools; (4) collection and dissemination of quality and regulatory data within a meaningful framework to assist and guide departments, clinics and hospital units toward reaching organizational quality and patient safety goals. As part of the Cancer Service Line team, the Quality Management Coordinator supports the CSL clinical programs and teams in sustaining a high level of clinical performance across the care continuum; develops and maintains collaborative relationships with all stakeholders involved.
