The Radiology Tech operates imaging equipment and performs diagnostic x-rays as ordered by the physician and under the guidance of the physician. Assists in preparing the operating/procedure rooms. Documents duration of radiation and results of tests/examinations in patient’s chart. Instructs and prepares patients for radiographic/fluoroscopic examinations. Accurately performs radiological exams to department standards including technique, positioning, protocols, and administration of contrast material. Assures quality of images presented to radiologist for interpretation. Follows protocols, participates in quality control programs, completes assigned procedures in a timely manner, and applies prescribed procedures to competently perform radiology technician functions. Ensures compliance with all Florida radiological standards and regulations. Follows man*****acturer’s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedures. Uses, cares for, cleans, sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed.
