Physician Assistant- Urology

The Physician Assistant practices within their scope of practice as appropriate in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with their organizational Medical Staff Bylaws. The provider will be focused on the pediatric urology population in the inpatient and operating room settings.
Daily responsibilities include:

Rounding on inpatients with the resident team in the morning, at 7:00 am
Holding the on-call pager during daytime hours to address inpatient, ED and outside referring provider consultation
Performing sign-out, in person or by call, with the on-call resident at 3:00 pm
Opportunity to perform minor procedures, such as NICU newborn circumcisions
Assisting the urologists in surgery

Additional role details:

Surgical PA training is preferred

Responsibilities restricted to the Main Hospital, SZI Campus
*NO night, weekend, or holiday call.*

The Physician Assistant will complete an evidence-based, published orientation program prior to independent practice in order to gain maximum confidence and support. Administrative time will be dedicated one day per week for participation in division initiatives and education.

The Physician Assistant practices within their scope of practice as appropriate in their jurisdictional area and in accordance with their organizational Medical Staff Bylaws. The provider is responsible for the management of care to patients including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of an appropriate plan of care. Provides leadership and consultation with their respective clinical area through participation division/department initiatives and mentorship of others. Participates in division/departmental and organization wide initiatives to represent advanced practice and leverage the role of the advanced practice provider.

Roles Responsibility
Assess, diagnose, monitor and promote clinical status, develop appropriate plan of care, write patient care orders, participate in patient care conferences, serve as a clinical preceptor, act as a clinical resource, and participate in quality improvement work.
