MRI Technologist


Works under general supervision and following established procedures, the MRI Technologist safely operates the Magnetic Resonance Imaging scanner to acquire images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Exercises independent judgment to modify scan techniques for optimal scan acquisition. Consults the appropriate content expert (Radiologist, Nurse, Supervisor, etc.) as necessary for each situation. Staff will be required to float among radiology clinics.

Roles Responsibility
Review MRI orders and scan protocols, Perform venipuncture and administer IV contrast agents, Maintain ACLS certification, Perform clinical and research MRI Exams, Screen patients for MRI safety and handle patient positioning and selection, Control MRI environment access for non-MRI personnel, Prepare and clean equipment and scanner rooms, Perform quality assurance on MRI scanners, Operate control console for patient scans and transfer patient images to PACs, Transfer, position, immobilize, and instruct patients for MRI studies, Utilize Radiology Information Systems for patient and exam information, Collaborate with technologists and ensure optimal patient flow, Manages ethical standards and deliver patient care, Stay up-to-date on MR imaging techniques and trends, Oversee and instruct staff/students on MRI equipment operation, Work in off-site clinics and cooperate with personnel, Perform POC creatinine testing, Perform other duties as required.
Desired Qualification
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Certified in MRI by ARRT, 2-3 years as Radiologic technologist preferred, Proficiency in MRI techniques and cross-sectional anatomy knowledge
