HSCPC Pediatric Care Rehabilitation Aide FT Rotating Day/Night Shifts


The Pediatric Care Aide performs direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse and performs other unit duties as assigned. All efforts are directed towards continuous quality improvement and family centered care. In addition this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to gather data reflective of the patient’s status relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the departmental policy and procedure manual.

Roles Responsibility
Performs direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, Demonstrate knowledge and skills appropriate to patient age, Gather data reflective of patient's status, Provide care needed, Utilize electronic medical record, Assist with daily nursing care, Perform ADLs, Involve patients in goals directed play, Observe and report changes in patient condition, Document data and interventions accurately, Demonstrate safe equipment use, Anticipate safety problems, Adhere to infection control policies, Utilize basic computer skills, Accompany patients to clinics and therapies, Maintain nursing unit environment, Conduct environmental rounds, Participate in quality assessment activities, Represent unit in interdisciplinary patient related activities.
